The fast-paced world we live in makes keeping up with fashion trends challenging and expensive! When we saw this shirt worn by Matthew McConaughey on Good Morning America, we knew we could get the look for less. Easily create your own couture using clothing you already own, inspired by the latest fashion trends... and save!

To get this look:

  • Lay your shirt on a flat surface and flatten out any wrinkles in your desired painting area.
  • Add a piece of cardboard under the first layer to prevent the paint from going through the fabric and onto the other side of the shirt.
  • Use spay adhesive or painters tape to hold the stencil in place. If using spray adhesive - apply a light coat to the back of your stencil to make it just tacky enough to stick to your surface.
  • Dip your brush into your first paint color, dab about 85% of paint off the brush into a paper towel. This will help prevent any paint from getting under the stencil.
  • Begin stenciling by moving your brush in an up and down pouncing motion.

  • Once you have applied your first color, you can start with your second color and repeat the painting process.
  • Flip the stencil over and use the opposite side to create a mirrored image of the first. Ensure your stencil is clean before flipping over.
  • Repeat above steps

  • Once your paint has dried, heat set the design by placing a piece of cloth over the stenciled design and iron on medium heat for 20-30 seconds.
